Rustic Pine Bough Garland

This post is sponsored by Consumer Crafts. All opinions my own

We don’t have a mantel in our house because we don’t have a fireplace. It’s very unfortunate for many reasons. I mean, nothing beats snuggling up by the fire on a blustery day. Also, it kind of makes decorating tricky as I don’t have a main place to showcase my stockings. Such a travesty.
My entry way has been my focal point for the last couple years and this year I decided to add my stockings to the bannister. Baby is still learning how to navigate the stairs so the decorations are safe from an inquisitive one year old behind the baby gate. I don’t know what I’m going to do for the tree…
Remember how I said I was buying some fun crafts from Consumer Crafts? Here’s how it turned out:

Isn’t it the perfect complement to my rustic advent calendar?

It was pretty easy put together with the box of supplies from Consumer Crafts:

1. First up was wrapping the Canadian Pine Garland around my handrail.
2. Then, I took the pinecones and sprayed them with spray glitter to add a little sparkle.

3. While they were drying, I quickly crocheted the Metallic Cord with the Pineapple Doily’s like this:
25 Single Crochets, added the doily with another Single Crochet, crocheted 20, added the doily with a Single Crochet, repeated until the last doily, crocheted 25 single crochets and tied off. This made the crochet snowflake garland the perfect length for my handrail.

4. I made some bows out of the Burlap Ribbon and then wrapped the rest around the pine boughs.

5. Now that the Pinecones were dry I used my Ryobi 18V drill with the 1/16″ drill bit to make tiny pilot holes in the bases of the pinecones. I then screwed the small eye screws into the holes. This made stringing them onto the hemp twine easy peasy. After I made the bunch of pinecones,I added some Jingle Bells to the tail.

6. I added some berry sprays and hung the stockings with ornament hooks.

This ornament was a handpainted gift from my grandma. The stockings I made my first year we were married.
