nautical bath

i had so much fun with this month’s collaboration because it went perfectly with the idea i had in my head for a space in my house. i’ve been thinking about the hall bathroom and how to make the most of the very small space. it’s going to be the shared bathroom between the two kids so i wanted to reflect both genders as well as have a more grown up feel. when lizzie picked this inspiration pallette i knew it was meant to be!

i have been contemplating how to make the most of the space and had a stroke of genius while getting my hair cut. my stylist has a salon in her basement and used this fabulous ikea vanity in her bathroom and i want it! i love that there are two big pull out drawers, which makes much better use of the space than the tiny useless “comb sized” drawers with cupboards. i wish there was room to put this fabulous linen cupboard in there too, but i’m thinking maybe adapting and doing glass cupboards above the toilet. i love the idea of a nautical theme, but not too literal. so, i incorporated the sea into the space with these fun baskets, a driftwood inspired mirror, a gorgeous piece of pink coral, navy star art, and some pallet art. a plush rug is a must and i’m going to work very very hard to convince my husband that the hexagon tile is non-negotiable. {along with a carrera marble counter top and backsplash} go grab this navy stripe curtain while it’s on sale! i’m not sure this type of light would work in the bathroom over the vanity, but i looove the look. and you seriously can’t go wrong with iron hooks! make it a little less masculine with this fun custom silhouette and wood quote.

now, then, if that’s not enough to get you wanting to do a makeover right now, check out my fellow designers!

I love this color palette…soft but yet dynamic too. It made me think of an office space…ready for lots of creativity. I think my favorite is the lights….so fun they look like bubbles hanging in the air. read more at

I love these colors together. I had fun coming up with a more girly living room than I would normally use in my own home, but now I’m kind of obsessed with that rug. Stop by{} to see all my sources!

I’m calling this my “rustic glam” dining room. I got a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities because I love this color combo so much, but in the end I kept it pretty simple but cozy. I stuck with white walls (looking out for renters!) but I think a warm greige would be really pretty too. Visit me at for more details and sources.
I immediately fell in love with this month’s color inspiration. The first word that popped into my head was Nautical. I wanted to use it in a dining room application so I had to give it some sophistication. Navy is one of my favorite hues and I love the contrast of the coral and gold against it. I love this color palette! I can’t seem to find it on Design Seeds anymore, the link is broken. Do you have any idea of the color codes for the colors?

    • Do you have the chrome extension Color Picker? It gives you the hex code of any color on a page! Here’s the 4 colors for the design image {which I couldn’t find the correct link either, sorry!} #FDFAEE #fe7970 #3D4859 #ECBF76 #D9D3C3 Hope that helps
