DIY Tote Bag

I’m at SNAP right now, probably chatting with someone WAY cooler than I. In my defense, I can make some pretty cool stuff. Sometimes I’m hit in the head with rare moments of genius. This was one of them. Not that it was an original idea, but it was genius in that it was the perfect craft for me to make for my secret sister at SNAP.
It also doubles as an awesome Mother’s Day gift for those hard-to-shop for mom’s and mom’s in law. My mom is a bag lady. I used to laugh at her about it, but now I’m one of them too. So, in honor of all bag ladies out there, who can’t help but have more bags, here’s a cute spring themed one for you.

It’s so simple. Find a cute design {or make one}. I browsed TONS of pinsperation and stumbled across this little Project Life gem. I knew it was exactly the right look I was going for.

If you have a great diecutting machine, use it. For those of us who don’t, print your design off on InkJet transfer paper {following their instructions}. Mine says to print image on the side WITHOUT the purple line and print the image flipped from how you want the design to end up. For my flower, this wasn’t too critical, but for any type of lettering make sure you do this step!

Cut it out, leaving a small gap around the edges and iron, keeping even pressure for about a minute. I tried to iron out the bag a little too since it was preeetttty wrinkly.

Wait for the image to cool and peel paper backing off of the design. That’s it!
