Jens is 6 months already. 6 MONTHS! With my daughter, I waited all the way until 6+ months to introduce her to baby food and even then she hated it. I think part of it was she’s kind of high maintenance and the other is that have you actually tasted that baby food from a jar/package? It is not so tasty. For Jens, I decided that I’d just watch him for signs that he was ready to try things and then only give him real food. I was so excited when I found ReSqueeze pouches because then I could have all the convenience of pouch food AND still make it fresh. So far, his response has been very positive.
I mean seriously, that grin kills me! These pouches are auhmazing. You fill them up with whatever purees you like and then when they are done they go in the dishwasher. What? So easy! I’ve tried my own versions of the pricey supermarket organic variety, like this kiwi, pear and spinach puree:
Start with a couple kiwi and dice into small bite size chunks. Add a sliced and skinned pear and a handful of spinach.
Put in the blender, adding some liquid to keep it a smooth consistency. Not too soupy but not too chunky either. The older your baby the chunkier you can leave it.
Pour in your ReSqueeze pouch and refrigerate after use! Easy peasy. Another trick I learned the second go around is to freeze purees in ice cube trays for easy 1 serving size. For breakfast, we’ve been adding some oatmeal and maple syrup to butternut squash for a deelish and very healthy start to the day.
I hope that he will not be as picky eater since he’ll be used to all different flavors from the beginning.
Have you tried any baby food recipes that are your fave?
I’m so happy to find eco-friendly and top quality brands that I can use without worry. I highly recommend these pouches. In fact, you can have a chance to win your own!
