Ikea RIBBA frames hack

Carissa Miss: Ikea RIBBA frames hack
This post is part one of my entry-way reveal:) I hesitated posting this before the full reveal, but I'm still waiting on a couple items to finish it up and I couldn't wait to post this tutorial. So, you'll get a little peek at what's to come.

Anyway, this is one of the easiest hacks in the books. Buy some Ikea Ribba frames, paint the mats and voila! instantly customized. I have lots of great art ideas pinned on pinterest and I've been hunting for the cheapest way to frame art. I love how easy and personal this idea is. I love that this idea uses dollar store frames. As much as I wanted to go cheap, when it came down to total cost with the time involved, I decided the $9.99 frames from IKEA were the way to go.

disassembled them and painted them with this beautiful, luminous metallic gold paint and polka dot stencil from DecoArt.

And, just for a teaser, here's some glimpses into the gallery wall! Do you know how expensive custom mats can be? I saved oodles on making my own. $$$ 'kaching! That's like putting money back in my pocket.
